Digable Planets T-Shirt

“In 1993, a young lady and I drove about an hour southeast of Lansing to see Digable Planets play at Eastern Michigan University. They were one of the hottest hip-hop groups alive (and still are in my opinion). They killed it.

I purchased this original t-shirt, and now, in 2025, it’s very rare. Featured on the front is the original artist’s caricatures of the group, representing 90’s hip-hop in a way (and during a time) that no longer exists. The artist’s signature is also featured along with the group’s original licensing and copyright (in very small font).

The back features the group’s initials ringed by the lyric “”planets is the joint this year, right?””.

Worn only sparingly over the last 20 years or so, the last wear was during the September 2019 DP concert in Seattle. The condition is consistent with a vintage item however there are no holes or rips (only minor fraying on the collar; and tiny dots toward the hem of the shirt that are imperceptible from several feet away).

Laid flat, the shirt measures approximately 20 1/2 inches from shoulder to shoulder, 22 inches across the chest, and 26 1/4 inches from the top back of the collar to the bottom. 90’s XL which means it wears more like a L today.
